Board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Theodore T. Foley offers BOTOX at Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery of Central Pennsylvania in Camp Hill, PA, to correct facial wrinkles. BOTOX is a nonsurgical skin treatment that utilizes botulinum toxin type A to relax facial muscles for a smooth, youthful appearance. Botulinum toxin type A derives from bacteria that works specifically to temporarily freeze muscle contraction. This process enables the skin over the muscle to appear smooth and even. During the procedure, injections sites are carefully marked and the BOTOX is strategically injected to diminish wrinkles and fine lines. Since BOTOX temporarily corrects dynamic wrinkles, treatment will need to be repeated every 3 – 4 months to maintain results.
"My previous cosmetic doctor/surgeon retired. I was at a loss that I would ever find someone that I trusted and liked as much as I did him. Then I found Dr. Foley. He has ethics and that is what I like the most. He is not out to do a procedure for the money and will advise you against things that are not necessary. I currently get Botox and Restylane from him and have been extremely satisfied. I would not hesitate in having a procedure done by him. I also appreciate his prices that he offers."- K.A. / Google / Jun 14, 2016
The best candidates for BOTOX injections are in good health who show the following signs:
- Dynamic wrinkles
- Smile and/or frown lines
- Lines around the eyes ("crow’s feet")
What to Expect@headingTag>
The doctor will look at the quantity, depth, and location of your dynamic wrinkles to mark the areas of the muscles of the face that will be treated. With an ultra-fine syringe, BOTOX will be carefully injected into the marked areas. Most patients report mild discomfort when the needle pierces the skin, but numbing creams and cold compresses can be used to make your treatment more comfortable.
Besides some swelling and redness for 3 – 4 hours, you should be able to return to your regular activities after the injection. We encourage all of our BOTOX patients to avoid exercise for 24 hours and to sleep upright the first night after the treatment. Complete results after BOTOX are visible (smoother forehead and diminished wrinkles) in about 5 – 7 days. Many patients feel that BOTOX treatments make their skin look radiant, they feel younger, and look well rested.
